What have you been reading lately? Here are my newest recommendation.
Mr. Guillou has penned an epic tale of a boy whose fate took him away from his family at an early age, one day a happy boy playing with his brother, the next promised to God in a priory. A reluctant but skilled hero in the crusades, just waiting for the day when he can be reunited with the woman he loves. A glorious read.
I’m a sucker for Nora Roberts. This, the first in the Inn Boonsboro trilogy, is one of my favorites. Lots of romance, fantastic storytelling, dashes of humor, and a ghost thrown into the mix. That’s really all you need, isn’t it? Go say hello to the Montgomery brothers.
When I read this the first time, I had the urge to stop writing permanently. Because what was the point when there was no way I could ever create something as epic as this? I’ve since reconsidered and settled for accomplishing less, but this remains one of my favorite books ever. The word “epic” was invented to describe this masterpiece.
