Still Breathing

Life’s…well, I would have said “funny,” but actually it’s not. Instead I’ll say that life’s got a way of getting its own way.

Things have been quiet in my writing world for a while. I’m not going to make excuses for that. Recently, though, a colleague of mine managed to do what I haven’t been able to do myself – inspire me to write again. Just like my publisher inspired me to start the promotion train again. I was excited to be back in the swing of things.

Then. Life. Due to serious illness in my immediate family, I have other priorities at least for a while.

I was *this* close… I will be back, though. One way or another.

TELL ME A LIE is the story of Skye and Cameron. They used to share everything, including big dreams of making it in the music world. Then Cameron left to make those dreams come true alone. Now, years later, Cameron is back in town for his father’s funeral, and to the world it looks as if he’s living the dream as a country music star while Skye abandoned her dream of becoming a  songwriter. But looks can be deceiving and people can lie. And when they lie, can love prosper?

Madigan-1_FINAL_Kindle

Welcome to Maeville, North Carolina—home of the Madigan brothers. Disillusioned Cameron, steady-as-a-rock Hunter, adventurous Reid, and Julian with demons clawing at him from the inside. And the women who love them.

* * *

Cameron Madigan used to dream of conquering Nashville and becoming a country music star.

He failed.

Now he’s back in town for his father’s funeral, even considering staying. Only problem is that he’s let people think he’s got a successful music career. Admitting the truth isn’t very appealing. Sometimes, though, a man’s got no say on whether he goes or stays.

Skye Jones watched Cameron hightail it out of town, off chasing the dreams they used to share. Now she watches him return, not much more than a shadow of the man he used to be. What’s worse, he thinks nobody can see it. Skye knows all about readjusting dreams, once dreaming of the moon, but now more than content just to watch it shine brightly on the sky at night.

Cameron and Skye thought their shared history was a closed chapter. Now, being back in the same town again, the embers smolder. But can they rekindle the fire when their lies to the world keep getting in the way?

Happy New Year

Design-2

It’s the end of 2017, and I guess that means it’s time to look back, take stock, evaluate. I’ll go light on that part this year, because I’ve certainly not accomplished all I set out to in the past twelve months. Sometimes when you’re just struggling to keep your head above water, goals fade into the background. It’s been one hell of a year for me, and not in a good way. So what I’m going to do this New Year’s Eve is put it all behind me. I’m not big on resolutions, so I’ll keep it vague and just promise myself that I’ll do what I can to make 2018 my year.

I’ll have new books to share with you in 2018. I am so crazy excited to introduce you to my favorite family, The Madigans, in a new series. So there’s that to look forward to. If you want to receive news about my future projects, make sure you follow this blog and sign up for my newsletter.

The only thing left this year is to thank you for your continued support and to wish you the happiest, brightest, and most joy-filled 2018. Be safe out there. ❤

New Release: To Love a Scotsman: A Romance Anthology

to-love-a-scotsman-caroline

Today Satin Romance’s anthology, TO LOVE A SCOTSMAN, is released. In it, you’ll find four romance stories set in a Scotland of the past, and I can’t tell you how pleased, proud, and plain ol’ excited I am to be a part of it along with the talented Lisa Aldridge, Nicole Angeleen, and April Marcom. These ladies mean business when they delve into historical Scotland and dig up strapping Scotsmen that will make you sigh and ask for more.

TO LOVE A SCOTSMAN by Nicole Angeleen

When Delphine fishes a man out of the North Sea, the last thing she expects to find is love. Not a big fan of Scots in general, she is pleasantly surprised at her instant attraction to Larkin. The circumstances of their meeting are less than ideal. Delphine is only supposed to be in Edinburgh for a day, and then there’s the small problem that someone is trying to kill Larkin.
Delphine is so distracted by her new romance, she doesn’t see that the trip to Scotland is a trap until it’s too late. An old foe is hatching a plan to kidnap Delphine and steal the most important part of her life: her ship. While her encounter with Larkin feels ill-fated, if they are able to escape, it might turn out to be what saves them both.

THE HEART OF IT by Jannie Lund

Sometimes you have to go to the past to find your future.
Photographer Katherine Wilkes knows how to find and zero in on the heart of things through her camera lens. Her own heart, however, is heavily guarded from being broken. Again. When a routine job yanks her seven hundred years back in time to medieval Scotland, she finds herself in big trouble. Not just because a ruggedly sexy, sword-toting Scotsman mistakes her for the king’s mistress and kidnaps her, but also because her walls she’s erected around her heart don’t seem to function properly in a time so different from her own.

THE FORBIDDEN SUITOR by April Marcom

Long ago in the highlands of Scotland, a young woman came up missing, her disappearance creating two families of eternally sworn enemies. Four generations later, this everlasting hatred is tested when a descendant from each one comes together in a chance meeting full of laughter and deep attraction, not knowing what bad blood exists between them.

THE RING O’CALLUM BRODGAR by Lisa Aldridge

In present-day Scotland, Anne Bradenegh is on an archeological excavation to the 18th century Castle Brodgar ruins, hoping to unearth some artifacts from the past. Instead, she uncovers her own past when she is visited by the mysterious Callum Brodgar, who has come looking for the cloak pin he lost centuries ago. Suddenly, but momentarily, she is thrust back into her former life and remembers snatches of what she has lost to the present. She must decide which life she will choose before it’s too late. The modern, professional life with her colleague and new love interest Cameron Sinha? Or the passionate life she once had in Castle Brodgar with Callum?
